Week 37 – October 3 – October 9, 2016
You did your first “modeling” this week for a teether toy. You did great and the pictures will probably be online for everyone to see! So proud of you!
We got you a Red Wagon to ride in! You love it!!
Uncle MR & your cousin Isaac came to visit this week because Isaac had a baseball tournament in Peoria.
You also keep doing this weird, but really cute yoga pose.
Week 38 – October 10 – October 16, 2016
Your second tooth came in this week!
Aunt Celina visited from Los Angeles this week. I was out of town until Friday afternoon and mom had to work early Friday morning, so Celina came down to babysit you for a little while. It’s tough not having family around us, but it’s nice that Celina is close enough to where she can drive down from Los Angeles.
I was your mom’s 33rd birthday on Saturday! She didn’t want to miss the Buckeye game on Saturday night, so I took her out to Capital Grille on Friday night while Celina watched you at home.
Week 39 – October 17 – October 23, 2016
I have been working a lot at the Fairmont this week to help with our income so I didn’t get to spend a whole lot of time with you. It’s tough times for us right now with my business not doing so well, but we are making it work. Your mom is doing a great job managing our budget and being creative with her meal planning. Business has been frustrating and I’m trying to hold on for as long as possible before giving up. Bottom line is that I need to make enough money to provide you and your mom the life that you both deserve. I know it’s stressful on your mom right now, but it will get better soon! I promise!
Week 40 – October 24 – October 30, 2016
Your mom and I have pretty flexible schedules so usually one of us gets to stay home with you while the other one is working. On Thursday night, we both had to work so that meant that Aunt Jane came over to watch you for a couple hours. You are still going through a stage where you don’t like going to too many people, but you eventually settled down. Everything was all good as soon as she took you for a ride in your red wagon. That’s definitely one of your happy places!
For some reason you started giving fist pumps this week! I don’t know where you got it from but it’s awesome! You can see some of the cool pictures below.
Week 41 – October 31 – November 6, 2016
This was your first Halloween! Mom wanted to make a costume for your first Halloween and it turned out great. You were the cutest little Reese’s Cup I have ever seen. Your mom was so proud of the costume and it made her so happy to take you around the neighborhood in your wagon. I was so proud of her which makes me happy as well. Can’t wait for next Halloween when you are walking and we get to take you around the neighborhood and up to the doors to get candy!
Buckeyes had a huge win on Saturday against #10 ranked Nebraska. As always, when they win your mom is so much happier 🙂
Uncle Ken was in town for the weekend. We went up to the Fairmont Pool on Sunday and you loved playing in the sand. This was the first time you really played in the sand and you loved it! Hopefully we can take you to a real beach one of these days.
This week you really started to climb on things around the house. We need to buy you some toys that you can climb on.
Week 42 – November 7 – November 13, 2016
Your top left tooth is about to come in any day! I bet it’s this week!!! You are so freaking cute with your little teeth showing. You started walking with your walker and started climbing out of your highchair.
We went to family happy hour at La Hacienda.
Week 43 – November 14 – November 20, 2016
We will say you took your official first steps this week! It’s probably just a matter of time until you are running all over the place!
You got your 3rd Tooth this week!
You also did a really pretty photo shoot for one of Mom’s friends who is a photographer. You’re our little model! Maybe one day you can make some money doing modeling!
Week 44 – November 21 – November 27, 2016
This was your first Thanksgiving!! Your mom and I have been excited for this day because we know how much you love food. You didn’t let us down! You loved all of the mashed potatoes, gravy and turkey! Aunt Celina came down from Los Angeles and Steve and Jan also came over to eat. It was a great day with food and family!
Week 45 – November 28 – December 4, 2016
You are starting to “talk” more and more specifically repeat the sounds were are saying. I would have to say that officially your first word was “dad” but mom would probably try to tell you something else. But trust me, it was dad!
We took you a Gymboree Class where you could climb on different things and slide down slides. You also got your first experience with bubbles and loved them. Good thing for you I found some at a Garage sale and we can play with bubbles at home now. Maybe one day we can afford to take you to a Gymboree class regularly.
It was a sad day for our family as we had to take Sweet Little Orbit Kitty to the farm. He was having trouble with his bladder for quite a while and couldn’t control his pee and poop. It was happening multiple times a day and it wasn’t the best environment to have a baby running around everywhere. Dad was also tired of cleaning up his pee and poop everyday and it made the house smell terrible. He was a great cat and I’m glad you got to spend a few months with him even though you won’t remember it.
Week 46 – December 5 – December 11, 2016
We went out shopping for a Winter coat for you this week. We are heading up to Flagstaff to visit the Polar Express early next week and you need a warm coat. Of course mom wants to buy you everything so i have to keep her in check. I don’t blame her because you look so darn cute in everything you try on!
Auntie Jan and Uncle Steve gave you an early Christmas present and you loved the reindeer stuffed animal.
Mom started putting up our Christmas tree.
Week 47 – December 12 – December 18, 2016
We went to the Polar Express on Monday and had such an amazing time! I can’t wait to go back when you are a little older and can fully understand the magic of Christmas and Santa Claus. You and mom were so cute in your Christmas pajamas. I have always loved Christmas but you bring a whole new element to this special time of year and we are truly blessed to have you in our lives.
We also went to a Christmas breakfast at the Fairmont.
We have enjoyed Grandma Patti in town for the week and now it’s Grandma Carol’s turn to visit. You are so lucky to have both of your Grandmas visiting within a few days of each other. You got so much love from them which makes us wish we lived closer to family.
Week 48- December 19 – December 25, 2016
Grandma Carol loved spending time with you and going to the Fairmont to celebrate Christmas at the Princess.
This was the best Christmas ever!! It was absolutely amazing waking up Christmas morning knowing that we would get to experience our very first Christmas together as a family. Christmas has always had a magical feeling for me, but that feeling is now beyond words with you in this world. Times are a little tough for us right now financially, so the gifts were a little limited from me and mom. But your grandparents sure did spoil you with some new toys, stuffed animals and of course clothes. We also got some cash and a gift card that we are going to use towards getting you a cool kitchen and chair.
Week 49- December 26 – January 1, 2017
This is Fiesta Bowl week which means that the Buckeyes have arrived in Phoenix and are staying at the Fairmont for the College Football Playoffs. Hopefully we get a chance to go up to the Fairmont and see some players or coaches. I know that would make your mom happy!
We went to see the Ohio State band practice at Chapparel High School.
Well, the Fiesta Bowl did not work out well for the Buckeyes! They got smashed like 31-0 and the worst part of it was that your mom was there to witness it in person. She was not in a good mood. But at least she was there. Our good friends at The Fairmont offered us tickets so your mom went with Amanda Wingert. The reason me and you didn’t go was that we went to pick up Granny and PawPaw at the airport that same night. You had so much fun walking around the terminal and entertaining all the people sitting around. Of course Granny and PawPaw were so happy to see you! It’s very special that you get the chance to spend time with your Great Grandparents even if you won’t remember it. Should be a fun week where you get spoiled a bunch!
