Week 11- April 4 – April 11, 2016
This week you had your first swim class at Hubbard Swim School! It was so fun to watch you in the water with Mom and you had such a great time! We also took you over to Paul & Jennifer Horton’s house on Saturday and you got to meet your new friend Samantha. She is about 2 weeks younger than you but she weighs quite a bit more than you and looks much older. They are a very nice family and hopefully we continue to see them alot and you and Samantha become friends. Mom also took you to the grocery store for the first time this week! That is one of mom’s favorite things to do and I know she was happy about sharing that with you. She is excited about one day being able to go with you and you get one of those little kid shopping carts. It was also Masters Golf Weekend and you enjoyed watching some of the Masters with me!
You are starting to find your voice and making the cutest little noises. It seems like you have so much to say, but just can’t get it out yet.
Week 12- April 12 – April 18, 2016
You got to meet Grandpa Mark for the first time! This was also your first trip to the Airport!
Week 13- April 19 – April 24, 2016
I had to go to Florida again for the event we are working on for The Boselli Foundation. I hate leaving you and mom, but it’s something i have to do to provide for us. It wasn’t as bad this time because Grandma Patti and Grandpa Mark were visiting so I didn’t have to worry as much about you and mom. I still missed you and mom a ton, but it was nice knowing that if something happened that Patti and Mark were there to help. Just know that you are very loved!
Here are some highlights for the week:
- You went to the Fairmont Pool for the first time. I was sad that i missed this trip, but we will be back many more times!!
Week 14- April 25 – May 1, 2016
You went to Texas for the 1st time this week! Your Aunt Cristina was putting together a surprise birthday party for Grandpa Mario’s 60th birthday party in Pflugerville. I told her that only I could go and you and mom couldn’t make it this time. I was so excited to surprise everyone that I almost blew it a few times when talking to Grandpa Mario. Your mom and I were nervous about your first flight! We have traveled alot and have been on airplanes were kids were screaming the whole way. We didn’t want to be that family! Don’t get me wrong, you have been a very well behaved baby, but you also haven’t been on an airplane. We had nothing to worry about because you did amazing! The toughest part was that we had to pack alot more stuff than we usually did when traveling with you. Fortunately I had alot of airline miles and we were able to purchase you a seat so we had the whole row to ourselves. You only cried a couple of times and it was for about 30 seconds each. You did such an amazing job and we were so proud of you! We stayed at Grandma Carol’s house on Friday night because we were surprising Grandpa Mario on Saturday morning. We met Grandma Carol and Great Granny Patsy at Amaya’s (my favorite mexican food place in Austin!) Grandma Carol didn’t tell Granny that you and mom were coming so that was another fun surprise. You also got me to Great Grandpa Jesse that night. You also met your Uncle MR & Aunt Angie for the first time as well as your cousins Isaac, Aden and Mila. They all come over to Grandma Caro’s house for Peach Cobbler! Another one of my favorites!!
We went to Grandpa Mario’s the next morning. Cristina ordered breakfast tacos and i picked them up and brought them inside. Grandpa Mario was so surprised to see me! Little did they know that you and mom were waiting in the car. I said i had to go back out and get my phone, but i brought back you and mom with me. EVERYONE was so happy to see you! Aunt Cristina almost dropped Julianna and screamed when she saw you! It was a very special moment and I am glad you got to meet Grandpa Mario, Grandma Amy, Uncle Mike, Aunt Cristina and your cousins Julianna and Reid. And that was just the beginning! We had Grandpa Mario’s surprise party at the park and you got to meet pretty much the entire Ramos side of the family. The partying must have worn you out because you slept for about 10.5 hours on Saturday night and slept the whole plane right home on Sunday.
Again, just such a great time and glad we were able to bring you to Texas.
Week 15- May 2 – May 8, 2016
You got your first cold probably from traveling to Austin and being on the airplane. It wasn’t too bad, just a little runny nose and a little cough. Also messed up your sleeping a little, but you seem to almost be over it now. You have really started to discover your hands and you love sucking on the back of your hands. Your mouth gets super slobbery, but it’s the cutest thing ever! We continued your swim classes this week and you did awesome again, of course! You got to be the demonstrator for the back float. Mom went in the water with you this week. I love just watching the two of you in the water together, even though I know you have more fun with me 🙂
This was also a very special week because Sunday was your mom’s first Mother’s Day. I get teary eyed typing this because she is such an amazing mom and she loves you so much. I can’t help but smile and thank my lucky stars when I see her loving on you. She is doing an amazing job raising you and i know you don’t know it right now, but you are extremely loved!! You mean the world to us and just know that no matter what happens, we love you with every ounce of our hearts. Don’t ever forget that your mom is an amazing woman and would give anything to make sure you are safe, happy and have everything you need. We are both very lucky to have her in our lives.
Week 16- May 9 – May 15, 2016
This was a big week for me as it was our first official event for our new company. We put on a large concert for the Tony Boselli Foundation down in Jacksonville, FL. I was gone Tuesday – Sunday and missed both you and mom so much! But I am hoping this event is a springboard for what’s to come with our business. Here are some cool pictures so you can see what our first event was like.
Week 17 – May 16 – May 22, 2016
You are really starting to reach out for things with you hands and grab more! Dad was not very good documenting this week, but here are some pictures from this week:
Week 18- May 23 – May 29, 2016
Thursday, May 26 was a big milestone for us because it was our first time to leave you at home with a babysitter. The Fairmont was opening up their new Sunset Beach Pool and we got invited to the VIP Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. Usually the events at the Fairmont are kid friendly, but this was one of few that wasn’t. Mom was having major anxiety the whole week about leaving you with a babysitter. It didn’t make it better that you were screaming your head off when we were leaving. In the end you did great with Ms. Brittney and mom did a great job being away from you for a few hours. I was so proud of her! And you!
We took you to the Fairmont this weekend for Memorial Day. We did a little staycation and stayed at the Fairmont on Saturday night. Their new pool is really nice and you had a great time hanging out with everyone! Here are some cool pictures from our weekend at The Fairmont:
Week 19- May 30 – June 5, 2016
You had your 4 month checkup and things went great! You were weighing and measuring great and the doctor was happy with everything. She also told us that we can start feeding you REAL food so you will get something besides milk this week! Oh yeah! Big milestone!
Week 20- June 6 – June 12, 2016
The big milestone this week is that you have been making all kinds of noises (your way of talking). I will try to put a video below of you talking, but it is one of the coolest/funniest things I have ever seen. You especially love talking to Bananas while laying in our bed. After hearing these non-stop high pitched noises, me and your mom are really wondering what your voice is going to send like and whether or not you’re going to be a big talker. Your mom sure was when she was growing up, just ask your Grandma Patti or Granpda Mark.
Week 21- June 13 – June 19, 2016
You fell asleep in your crib for the first time during a nap today (Thursday)! Usually we have to rock you in the chair and then you fall asleep on either me or mom. Mom was working and I put you down in your crib while you were still awake. I put the binky in your mouth and you just sucked on it for about 45 seconds and then just fell asleep. It was awesome! See the picture below!
Sunday was Father’s Day and your mom got me a really cool coffee mug with pictures of you all over it. It’s the best present I have ever received. This was my first father’s day so I thought I would take a minute to talk about what it meant to me. I can’t begin to explain my feelings of being a father in words. You are the most amazing, beautiful thing i have ever been around and everything I do now i have you in mind. I want more than ever to be a good role model to you and be someone that you can grow up to be proud of. I never knew that I could love something or someone as much as I love you. I wish i knew what you were thinking sometimes because I hope you feel the love that we give you everyday. I don’t know what God has in store you, but know that I will do everything to keep you safe and help put you in situations to succeed at whatever you end up doing. I love you so much Reese!
Also on Father’s Day the Cleveland Cavaliers won the NBA Finals in a Game 7 that will go down as one of the best ever. Me and your mom really like Lebron James and was happy to see him bring the title to Cleveland.
Week 22- June 20 – June 26, 2016
Mom got you signed up for your Baptism at her family church in Ohio when we will be up there in a few weeks. I am excited for this because I know it means alot to your mom and grandma Patti that we do this at their church. It is a beautiful church and I am glad that it’s working out that we can take the required class and do your baptism while we are visiting Ohio.
You are soooo close to officially crawling this week! You are starting to move forward and get all the way up on your knees. You are moving a little but haven’t put everything together yet. I bet by the end of next week you will be crawling pretty consistently.
You also found a new best friend this week in Sophie the Giraffe. It’s a cool squeaky toy that is good for you to grab and put in your mouth. You love it! See pic below.
Not sure what you are doing this week in regards to your sleep, but it hasn’t been your best efforts 🙂 For some reason you are going to be late (11 or 12) and waking up at least a few times in the middle of the night. I know this is something you have to go through, but it’s not that fun! But you are so dang cute it’s hard for us to get frustrated with you!!
You tried Watermelon for the first time and love it! You couldn’t get enough of it. We were on the fence about giving you a bath tonight, but this helped us make our decision. You were a sticky mess! It’s make me happy that you liked Watermelon because it is my favorite fruit!
Week 23- June 27 – July 3, 2016
You turned 5 months old this week! SLOW DOWN! You are growing up too fast :). It really has gone by quickly, but your mom and I are loving every single day of your life. It’s not always easy for us because we have never done this before, but you are a great baby and make it as easy as possible for us!
We also took you to your first baseball game as the Diamondbacks had a day game on Wednesday. One of your mom’s friends got us the tickets and also got us down on the field before the game. As you probably know by now, me and your mom met at a baseball stadium so this special for us taking you to your first game. Hopefully one of these days we can take you to Minute Maid Park where we first met.
Your first 4th of July Celebration was Sunday night at The Fairmont. You enjoyed hanging out with Aunt Amanda as well as Aunt Gena. They also had a great concert which you enjoyed so much that you took a nap for about an hour halfway through the concert. You did wake up in time to see the great firework show! You couldn’t stop staring at the fireworks and weren’t scared at all! It was so much sharing your first 4th of July at the Fairmont.
