Year 7 – January 2023
I can’t believe you’re 7 years old now! This was the first time that you knew what was going on and were really excited about your birthday! This was also the first year that you invited friends to celebrate with you. Here’s how we celebrated:
- Starbucks in the morning – you like the pink passionfruit lemonade
- Panera for lunch – we decided to get the soup and bread from Kroger to save time and some money. You loved it!
- Build-a-Bear – this has been a tradition every year for your birthday, but this year you invited Bea and Rosalie to come with you. We decided to do this instead of have a big party at our house. You had such a great time and all of you got to get a bear and accessories. You got Evee, Rosalie got Pekachu, and Bea got a bunny.
- Cupcake decorating – after Build-a-Bear, everyone came over to our house to play and decorate cupcakes. It was interesting because Rosalie used to live at this house, so she was excited to see all the different areas again.
Your mom spent a lot of time getting ready for your special day. She did an absolutely amazing job with all of the supplies and decorations (You wanted half Yoda and half Stitch for your decorations.) She found all kinds of cute little serving dishes for everything, made you her traditional birthday sign, and even made you an incredible balloon arch that went by the fireplace. It’s hard to tell, but I hope you appreciate her efforts. In the end, she just wants you to feel loved! I know she succeeded.
You also got a Nintendo Switch with Mario Kart 8 deluxe!
You still love being a puppy dragon. Lilly, 6 years old when you’re inside, 8 when you go out, and your clumsy, and a guard dog. You always want me to give you two puppy treats when I tuck you in. You pretend to spit them out in a little pile and save them for later. I love your imagination!
Year 7 – February 2023
You have wanted to do more things yourself:
- You asked mom if you could sleep by yourself – it didn’t last long, but you did lay by yourself for a few minutes.
- You pooped AND wiped all by yourself for the first time – and you want to close the door when you go.
- You also wanted to take a bath by yourself and soap yourself and everything else by yourself.
I’m sad because it means you’re growing up 🙁
One of my favorite things you do is when I leave for work. You go to the front window and wave, blow kisses, and give an air hug. Then you run to the dining room window and do the same thing as I pass the backside of the house.
You got your ears pierced!! Out of the blue, you said you wanted to go get your ears pierced. So we did! We went to Claire’s at Easton on Saturday to get them done…or at least that was the plan. The website said they opened at 11, but the store didn’t open until noon. And that hour-long wait is not good for your brother haha. We killed time at the Lego store and then Barnes and Nobles, but he almost didn’t make it. Then, when Claire’s did open, their piercing person wasn’t coming for another hour! Luckily, there was another place next door that ended up being a nicer place. They did both ears at the same time and you took it like a champ – didn’t even flinch! Your earnings are so cute, but it makes you look older 🙁
We celebrated my birthday by going to Chili’s – I love their burgers – and we get free chips and queso! And mom made me one of my favorite things, fruit pizza!
