Week 193 – October 7 – October 13, 2019
This was our first first to take part in some Halloween fun. I saw in one of the parent newsletters I receive that they were having a fun event at the New Albany Center, so we decided to go on Tuesday. However, they had the date wrong and the event was on Thursday! So there we were, you in your costume and me feeling horrible. But you didn’t care! You liked looking at all the decorations in the room there and then we ended up going to Johnson’s Ice Cream and meeting mom and Houston at Rusty Bucket. We did end up going back on Thursday and you had a good time!
We didn’t do much else this week, but we did take a walk around the block and made an impromptu trip to the flower park because it was beautiful weather! The walks around the block are something small, but I will cherish and remember them forever. You won’t always want to hold my hand and walk around the block, so i’m taking it all in. You discovered “cattail” plants at the pond and had to cut one down and take it home to show mom.
Week 194 – October 14 – October 20, 2019
This week we celebrated your mom’s 36th birthday! She’s not happy about getting older, but I think we made it a great day for her. I surprised her by taking the day off to celebrate. We started the day by sleeping in a little and then you made her some nice birthday signs. Once she woke up, we gave her her birthday presents. I gave you the freedom to pick out two things on your own from the dollar store. It’s something small, but I love doing that with you and I think it means a lot to mom. You picked a bag of feathers and a “Love” sign. You picked the feathers because you said when mom is sad, you will tickle her with the feathers and make her happy 🙂 And got her an Homage Ohio State sweatshirt that she wanted. We quickly got dresses, stopped by Starbucks and then went to the Franklin Park Conservatory. We have been wanting to go here for a while, and your mom discovered that the library lets you “check out” free passes. It’s first come, first served, so we had to drive to the library first and make sure they were still available. It ended up saving us close to $50! The Conservatory was really cool and you had a great time at their children’s garden and water area. Houston of course slept through a good portion of the day! We stopped at Chick-fil-a on the way home so we could get home to watch the Astros ALCS game against the Yankees. Me and you baked mom some strawberry cupcakes with pink icing and then sang her happy birthday with the plates and hats you picked out at the dollar store. We ended the night with an Astros victory and Bibibop to go! It was a great day and your mom said it was one of her best birthdays ever! I had so much fun shopping and baking cupcakes with you!

Merry Christmas! Christmas is such a wonderful time now that you understand it a little more and get so excited! We decided to stay home for Christmas day so you could wake up in your own bed and walk out to see what Santa left you.
You also made “reindeer food” at an event at my work, so we poured that out on the sidewalks right before you went to bed. You were so excited and happy to leave food for the reindeer. It was such a cute moment! And you didn’t forget Santa. You and mom baked cookies for him that you left with a glass of milk. We had to move the couch out away from the fireplace to make sure Santa had room to get through and drop off your presents.
