Week 129- July 2 – July 8, 2018
We spent the 4th of July at Jeremy’s house watching Red, White, & Boom. He lives about 1/2 mile from where they shoot off the fireworks and it was an incredible show. You loved the fireworks! You didn’t like the loud booms, so we watched from inside. It was fun watching with you because we each had to “own the fireworks”. You would say “Oh, that was in mine”, “Daddy, which one is yours?” It was so cute!
You also got a fun surprise when Brutus and the OSU cheerleaders showed up at Jeremy’s house. You were able to dance with Brutus and had him all to yourself for a few minutes.
You are learning how to count better with your fingers. It’s pretty amazing how your mind works and you stare intently at your fingers as you try to switch from 2 to 4 fingers. Your fingers want to do one thing but you mind is thinking something else.
This is the week you mastered the summersault!
Week 130- July 9 – July 15, 2018
When you eat quinoa, you like to push it into a square, call it a birthday cake and make us sing Happy Birthday to you!
Week 131- July 16 – July 22, 2018
Week 132- July 23 – July 29, 2018
Week 133- July 30 – August 5, 2018
Week 134- August 6 – August 12, 2018
Grandma Carol came to visit this week! She was so happy to spend time with you and gave you surprises every day when you woke up – a huge tea pot, play-doh, butterfly costume, dresses, and coloring books. We only get to see her a couple times a year, so this quality time was really special.
I didn’t get to spend too much time with the family as I was planning our first Columbus Butterfly Run at the Big Lots Headquarters. I love planning events and they are always special, but this one was super special because you, mom, and Grandma Carol were able to participate. You had a super cute butterfly costume and ran in the kid’s dash. It was something simple, but I will remember it forever. You also got a shark mouth face-painted on your eye.
Week 135- August 13 – August 19, 2018
Week 136- August 20 – August 26, 2018
I think you’re going to be a track star! You love running in our house and playing the “Get you game”. It’s where we run as fast as we can from the front door to the garage door and try go get each other – or “get you”. You think it’s the best thing ever and I love that you’re running and we can play it together.
Week 137- August 27 – September 2, 2018
You start dance classes next week and mom ordered your one-piece and tap shoes. I can’t stand how cute you are. I also can’t wait to see you at dance class.
You attended your first Ohio State football game this week. I usually only get 2 tickets from work, but for some reason I was given 4 for the Oregon State game. We thought it would be fun to go with you and Grandma Patti. Your mom and Grandma Patti have always had a special bond when it came to Ohio State, especially the football team. I was extremely excited to invite grandma to the game so she could share this special moment with you and mom. I know it meant alot to your mom to be at the game with you and grandma. It was a great moment for our family! You are still too young to enjoy and appreciate the game, but you did enjoy seeing Brutus. The only problem is that you wanted to see Brutus and have him come up to our seats. You have been pretty spoiled with Brutus appearances and usually get to hug him and take a picture with him. You were getting pretty upset about it, but nothing a little dippin’ dots and popcorn couldn’t fix. We had to leave at halftime because of a big storm, but regardless it was a great day!
Week 138- September 3 – September 9, 2018
You started dance classes this week! It didn’t go so well. You didn’t like being in the room with the other kids and not being able to see me or mom. When the instructor switched you from your tap shoes to ballet shoes, she forgot to put on of your shoes. You looked sad just walking around with one shoe – it was quite sad!
Week 139- September 10 – September 16, 2018
You stopped going to dance class this week! It was tough because you couldn’t be with us and were a little scared. It’s ok. We were proud of you for trying and we will find something else you like.
We call you the “Stall Queen of the Midwest” because you will do everything you can to try not to go to bed. You need to “finish my breakfast” or “take a bath” at 11:00 when it’s time for bed. Or you want to read all your big books.
Week 140- September 17 – September 23, 2018
Some of the funny things you’re saying:
- “Butt make” – means fart
- “I don’t know”
- “Over dere” instead of “there”
- “Just two more minutes”
- “Glubs” is “gloves”
Week 141- September 24 – September 30, 2018
I was busy most of this week with the MyBigLots meeting, so you and mom went north to hang out with Grandma. My event was great, but I sure did miss you! We did get to facetime a few times, which was was nice. Once the event was over Friday afternoon, you and mom came up to the Hilton to stay with me for one night. I was able to get the VP suite for the evening which meant we got to stay in a huge room for the night. We had dinner at the hotel with Jeremy and then we walked down the Short North to get Jenni’s Ice Cream. Oh yeah, and your mom wanted to stop and get a slice of pizza before we went up for the evening. After a long week of work, it was so nice to hang out with you and mom. We had a wonderful evening together as a family. I think your favorite part was hiding in the mechanical blinds/shades and pretending we were disappearing. You’re imagination is great!
We came home Saturday afternoon, dropped off our luggage, and then headed to Lynd’s Farm to pick apples and pumpkins. This was all of our first time to actually pick pumpkins that were still attached to the vine. It was so cool! We also picked some delicious apples. It was a perfect fall day!
