Week 116- April 2 – April 8, 2018
Some of the funny things you are saying:
“Just a few more minutes” – You say this when it’s time to go somewhere or it’s time for bed and you’re watching your Ipad. You also stick out your pointer finger and move your hand up and down as you say this.
“Last time!” – You say this when you are doing something and we tell you it’s time to stop. You always have to do it one more time.
Week 117- April 9 – April 15, 2018
You and mom are heading up to Sandusky this weekend. But before you hit the road, you and mom met me for lunch at McCalister’s deli. It was a simple lunch date, but it meant the world to me. I cherish these moments because I know they won’t last. Sitting on the same side of the bench with you….cutting your fruit for you…..showing you how to shoot the paper off your straw (you did that for the first time today)….you not being able to reach the table when you sit down on the bench. I love all of these things so much!
Week 118- April 16 – April 22, 2018
Week 119- April 23 – April 29, 2018
Week 120- April 30 – May 6, 2018
Week 121- May 7 – May 13, 2018
Week 122- May 14 – May 20, 2018
We moved to our new house this week. Yes, it’s another rental house, but it will be a better situation for us. It’s a single level – single family home in a quiet neighborhood. I was always scared to death you would fall down the stairs in our triple-level condo. Grandma, grandpa, and uncle Link came down to help move. Grandma’s job was to keep you busy, but grandpa and Link were extremely helpful in moving our stuff. Fortunately we were only moving .2 miles down the road, so we were easily able to move stuff with our cars and one trip with a larger moving truck.
Week 123- May 21 – May 27, 2018
Week 124- May 28 – June 3, 2018
This weekend was Family Day at my work. I have been working on this event for a long time and it was the first big event we have hosted at the new corporate headquarters. I was leading this event and I took a lot of pride in making sure it was a success. The event was great and it was even more meaningful that you, mom, and grandma patti were able to come and have fun.
We finally got your mini-trampoline trampoline put together! I had ordered one through an auction site, but it was missing some of the legs (typical of an auction site). I found someone selling one online and bought it and used the legs. You love it!!
Week 125- June 4 – June 10, 2018
We went on a roadtrip with granny and pawpaw to Chicago. It wasn’t the most eventful trip, but it was so special to me to see you spending time with your great grandparents.
- You rode your first city train and you loved it!
- We took you to see The Bean in Millennium Park.
- We had dinner at Navy Pier.
Week 126- June 11 – June 17, 2018
You caught a baby frog on your own with your bare hands. You were so proud and it was the cutest thing ever! Granny also brought you a new bubble machine.
Week 127- June 18 – June 24, 2018
We went to the park on Monday and you made a friend. You kept taking turns taking each other’s order. It was so cute and I was so proud of you for playing so nicely with someone else.
We have had a ton of rain this month and on Wednesday we decided to make the best of it and take out your rain boots. I had no idea how much you would enjoy jumping in the puddles and trying to make the leaves race down the curb. You also enjoyed scooping water in your Minnie Mouse hat and pouring it on your head. It’s the small things like this that I try to enjoy more and more everyday.
On Friday, you went poop for the first time in the big girl potty. I know you will read this one day and think it’s crazy, but it’s just one of those things that special in life. You are, by no means, potty trained, but it’s a big step. Your mom and I were so proud of you and gave you high fives while you were still on your Minnie Mouse seat.
Week 128- June 25 – July 1, 2018
It’s Monday and you and mom headed up north to grandma’s house. But before you went, I needed to move mom’s car from the front to the garage. You sat on my lap and got to help me drive down the street and through the back alley to the garage. Again, you may look back at this and not think anything of it, but it was such a fun and special moment for me. It makes me sad when you and mom leave, but it also makes me really happy that you get to drive only a few hours to spend time with grandma and grandpa. It was also cute that you packed your own suitcase with your toys and told mom that you’re ready to go and you need to put it in the car.
This week you started your “Frozen” faze and you haven’t even watched the movie yet! We have to call you Elsa and you get really upset when we call you Reese. Mom is Anna and I’m Kristoff. You also have quite a few Elsa dresses and don’t want to take them off!
