Week 50- January 2 – January 8, 2017

What a great week we had with Granny and PawPaw! We went to Sedona and had a great time! We were supposed to go a little earlier in the week, but it was snowing up there! It was a really special time because Granny and PawPaw had never been to Sedona so it was fun to share in that moment with them. Below are some great pictures from the trip.

Granny and PawPaw also got you a really cool 3-in-1 Bike and you absolutely love it! They are really spoiling you and you are so luck to be able to spend time with your Great Grandparents. Most kids don’t ever get this opportunity.

Week 51- January 9 – January 15, 2017

We went to the grand opening of a new Safeway grocery store by our house (only because they sent us coupons) and they had a really cool pink grocery cart for you to ride in. You loved it of course!

We had dinner with the Jacobsen family at Venezia’s Pizza. You did a great job of entertaining everyone! You also slid right out of your high chair, but luckily you didn’t get hurt.

Week 52- January 16 – January 22, 2017

This has been kind of boring week. The weather has been very cloudy and rainy which we don’t expect here this time of year or really any time of the year!

You had a fun trip with Mom, Aunt Kim and Malachi to the park. Dad had to work but was so happy that you were able to hang out with your Cousin. You must have had a great time because you were a mess. Mom said you enjoyed doing “sand angels” in the sand and eating your red velvet cupcake.

We also had a couple trips to CostCo for samples. This is nothing too exciting but really is one of my favorite things to do with you. Because I have such a cute little girl with me, the sample ladies always give us as many samples as we want. So thank you!

We got you a really cool Paw Patrol couch from Babies R’ Us and you love it! We put both a Mickey Mouse and Paw Patrol couch on the ground and let you pick which one you want. You went straight for the Paw Patrol couch and started barking!

Just a quick update on Dad’s business: We sent out about 200 post cards to companies here in the Phoenix area hoping to draw up some interest for an event we are doing at the golf course. Hopefully we get some sort of response from this mailing as I am getting desperate! Need to get some more business so i can take care of you and your mom!

Week 53- January 23 – January 29, 2017

You turn 1 this week!!! I can’t believe you are already 1 year old. The time just flew by but we have enjoyed every second of this first year. You have grown up so much and are turning into the most precious little lady I have ever seen!

Saturday was your actual birthday and we woke up and went to Perk for breakfast. They have the best pancakes in the world so mom and I thank you for letting us take you their for your birthday breakfast. You loved it!

We had a birthday party for you at our house on Sunday with the Aardsma’s, Neff’s, Flores’ and Brittney. Mom dressed you in a cute little tutu which you only wore for a few pictures because you couldn’t walk very well in it. But you were adorable! We ordered pizza from Venezias and mom made some amazing cookies and cupcakes for everyone. She made a special birthday cake for you to do your “cake smash”. At first you didn’t really know what to do with it but i think once you realized you could just play with it, you really went to town and got after it!

Week 54- January 30 – February 5, 2017

This was the week of the Waste Management Phoenix Open Golf Tournament. It was a tough week as this was the first time that I really had no involvement with the tournament. Luckily I was able to work quite a bit for the Fairmont so that helped take my mind off things. Ken and Dan were in town so that was nice to see them. We all went out to dinner at The Keg on Monday night. Dan also gave you $100 for your birthday! They are really two of the nicest guys.

You also love laundry basket rides!

Week 55- February 6 – February 12, 2017

As part of your birthday presents, Steve and Jan got you a gift card to the Children’s Museum so we took you on Friday for the first time. It was amazing! They have so many different activities for you children your age that help with your learning and cognitive skills. I love things like this because they help with your brain development. As parents, your mom and I hope we are doing enough to help you grow and develop. It’s tough to really know so it’s nice going to places like this that help.

Week 56- February 13 – February 19, 2017

You got the first rose of your life when we went to CostCo. It was right after Valentines Day and they were giving away roses as people were leaving the store. Also, I love going to CostCo with you! You love going to CostCo as well because the samples are awesome! I hope we continue to do this tradition.

I also got you a heart shaped balloon that you loved as well! It’s the small things like this that makes me happy when I see you happy. We don’t have alot of money right now and it really makes me appreciate everything that we have.

Week 57- February 20 – February 26, 2017

Your water table from Grandma Patti came this week! But the weather is a little cold so will have to wait until it warms up a little to use it.

Week 58- February 27 – March 5, 2017

Grandma Patti was in town this week! And of course she spoiled you as usual. The weather was kind of bad, so we weren’t able to do many outdoor activities.

We made a visit to the brand new Aquarium in town with Grandma Patti, Kim, Steve and Malachi. You loved all of the fish and really loved watching the Otters. Grandma Pattie bought you a cute pink otter stuffed animal to take home.  You also have your first nose bleed during this trip. Afterwards you were running around outside and tripped on the concrete and hit your nose. Mom brought you over to me and i noticed that you had a little blood dripping out of your nose. It wasn’t anything too bad, but of course your mom was freaking out.

You love your water table. It is perfect for when you make a mess at lunch and then we can just get you naked and take you outside to the water table.

Week 59- March 6 – March 12, 2017

I hope we never forget you running in circles. These simple pleasures in life bring me the most joy while watching you. For some reason you either like walking in circles around the table in the front room or around the island in the kitchen.

Mom and I both had to work Thursday night, so Steve and Jan came over to watch you. You did such a great job and I know they both loved spending time with you. Jan took you on a wagon ride and you saw 4 or 5 dogs and you met a little boy that lives right down the street.

I took you to the Fairmont on Sunday to run around and chase ducks around the lagoon. You loved it! Except for when they ran away from you. You deal with the same problem at home when you try to pet Riley and she runs away from you. You usually get mad and start screaming or crying.

I have been applying for different jobs the past few weeks. My business is growing but it’s slow and I need to do more to provide a better life for you and your mom. I’m having a tough time dealing with the failure of not being super successful in my own business, but I know things are going to work out in the end for all of us. I did get a call back this week from the retail store BigLots! The call went well and they seemed interested in my skills and what I could bring to the position. On top of that, it is based on Columbus, OH which is only about 2 hours from Sandusky where mom is from and where all of your mom’s side of the family live. I am not super excited about the possibility of moving to Ohio, but I know it would make your mom happy and it might be the best thing for our family right now. Who knows, they may not even call me back again. Stay tuned…..

We are having visitors this weekend! Our friends Jordan and Michael from Houston are visiting and bringing their 2 year old son, Austin. It should be a fun weekend with you having someone to play with at the house. You have been making alot of trips with mom to some home stores. You are such a good girl and love riding in the carts in the stores. My favorite thing is how excited you get when you see stuffed animals.
